Six-Part Grief Share Support Series

3rd Tuesdays
3:30 – 5 p.m.

Carbondale Branch Library (320 Sopris Avenue)

Sopris Lodge and HomeCare & Hospice of the Valley invite you to a six-part grief support series for those navigating the loss of a loved one. Held on the third Tuesday of each month in the Community Room at the Carbondale Branch Library, this series will feature a rotating lineup of compassionate speakers offering guidance, support and connection. These groups are free to attend, and advance registration is encouraged.

  • Tuesday, Nov. 18 – The third session will be led by Kathy Springer-Lechuga, a lifelong Roaring Fork Valley resident. After more than a decade volunteering with Hospice of the Valley, Kathy retired and pursued her passion to end-of-life care. She completed End-of-Life Doula training in 2021 and later trained as a palliative care chaplain. Today, she serves as one of Hospice of the Valley’s chaplains, bringing warmth, empathy and experience to the team.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 16 – The fourth session will be led by Chaplain Thom Jones, who has served with Hospice of the Valley for more than seven years. With over 45 years in Christian ministry—spanning the beaches of California to Colorado’s Rocky Mountains—Thom brings a wealth of experience along with a calm, compassionate presence to his work in end-of-life care.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 20 – The fifth session will be led by Lisa Paige, Licensed Social Worker with Hospice of the Valley. Lisa first joined Hospice of the Valley in 2010 after moving to Glenwood Springs to begin her career as a Registered Dietitian. Since then, she has worked in a variety of care settings, including intensive and acute hospitalization, oncology, primary care, long-term care, behavioral health, hospice, and home care. In 2023, she earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Denver and became a licensed social worker. Lisa has also studied the neurobiology of grief and bereavement, both for her professional development and her personal journey of healing, bringing a unique perspective to the conversation.
